Carter Pish is a senior at Quincy High School (QHS). He is also enrolled in the Electrical Technologies program at the Branch Area Careers Center (BACC). His OJT placement is at Nick Michael's Construction under the supervision of Nick Michael. His job duties include all types of construction including framing, concrete work, window and door installation, demolition, and light electrical work. Carter says he has learned many things working with Nick, and he feels his OJT experience has been instrumental in preparing him for work after school.
At the BACC Carter earned his Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 certification, won several attendance awards, and is a member of Skills USA.
At QHS Carter participated in varsity football. He has also been a lifelong member of 4-H, where he exhibited dairy starter calves and steers. He also has shown goats nationally.
After high school Carter plans to attend Southeast Lineman Training Center in Trenton, Georgia and pursue a career as a lineman. In his spare time he likes to hunt, fish, and work on trucks.
Nick says, “Carter is an excellent worker and a fast learner. He's reliable and smart. I have no doubt he's going to be successful in the future. It's been a pleasure to work with this fine young man.”
Carter is the son of Justin and Suzanne Pish.
