School Closures Procedures - Students

The decision to close schools due to inclement weather or bad road conditions will be announced on most television and radio stations including:

 

 

WTVB AM1590, FM 95.5 Coldwater        

WWMT -- Channel 3 & CW7

WOOD -- Channel 8 Grand Rapids

WOTV -- Channel 41 Battle Creek

 

The decision to close schools is made by the superintendent as early as possible, usually around 5:30 a.m.

  • If you do not hear “Branch ISD” listed in the closures, you may assume ISD Programs are operating on a normal schedule.
  • If you hear an announcement that schools will operate
    “two hours late” it means:

    • All AM programs are canceled (including Head Start, Waldron and BACC).
    • All PM programs will continue on their normal schedules..

     

  • If you hear an announcement that
    “school is closed,” it means:

    • School is closed.
    • All activities are canceled.

     

  • If you hear an announcement that
    “school is closed, district offices closed” it means:

    • School is closed.
    • All activities are canceled.
    • All district offices are closed.
    • Employees do not report to work.
