Gavin Howard is a senior at Bronson High School and is the son of Kerri Bates and Dick Howard. This is Gavin’s second year in the Computer and Networking Technologies program at the Branch Area Careers Center where he has achieved his A+ certification. Gavin is the OJT Help Desk technician at Century Bank & Trust under the supervision of Ron Uhl and Carlos Villa. His responsibilities include configuring company computers for deployment, assisting employees in daily tasks and troubleshooting computer issues. He believes his on the job training has helped him to learn how companies manage computers and the process of deploying software and updates to company servers and computers. Gavin’s favorite part about his OJT is the opportunity to work with computing professionals and all the hands-on experience he is getting. His future plans are to attend college and ultimately learn more about penetration testing and the overall Information Technology (IT) business.
Gavin is a member of Business Professionals of America (BPA) at the BACC, he competed in the Regional and State levels last year. He plans to accomplish that again this year and return for the second year in a row at the BPA State Leadership Conference. At Bronson High School, he hopes to be part of the Robotics Team. In his spare time, Gavin enjoys building and fixing computers.
