Elijah Stayner

Elijah Stayner is the Branch Area Careers Center Computer & Networking Technologies Senior of the Year. Elijah is a Burr Oak High School senior who has been attending the BACC CNT program for the past 2 years. He earned is CompTIA A+ certificate in Computer Repair as a junior. He is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, former officer of Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter, OJT student at Infinisource, and 8th and 10th grade BACC tour volunteer.  Elijah is a two-year member of the BACC’s Business Professionals of America club. As a junior, Elijah placed at BPA Regionals and competed in the 2019 BPA State Leadership Conference. This year as a senior, Elijah placed first in Computer Security and 2nd in Computer Network Technology at the Regional Leadership Conference, and was eligible to compete in the 2020 BPA State Leadership Conference in March, but unfortunately, the event was cancelled.

After graduating High School, Elijah plans to attend either Albion College or Davenport University to pursue a degree in computer science. After graduating from college, Elijah plans to work in cyber security or server management.

Berto Campos, Computer & Networking Technologies Instructor selected Elijah because he has been self-motivated to strive for success in the classroom and on his OJT job. Elijah is a leader in the classroom and always takes the lead on team projects and customer work.  Mr. Campos also noted that Elijah walked in to his class with goals and determination to achieve them. Elijah was the first student to achieve A+ certification as a junior. Additionally, Elijah completed a successful year of OJT in the Information Technology department at Infinisource.
