Coltin Haylett

Coltin Haylett is the Branch Area Careers Center Electrical & Automation Engineering Technologies Senior of the Year. Coltin is a Coldwater High School senior who has been attending the BACC Electrical Tech program for the past 2 years. He serves as the Treasurer of Skills USA and Car Show volunteer.  Coltin placed 1st in Technical Related Math at SkillsUSA Locals,   3rd at SkillsUSA Regionals, and won 2nd place at SkillsUSA State in 2019. He was named Student of the Marking Period for his Electrical Technologies class. Coltin received the BACC student endowment scholarship, Bernie Behnke Memorial Scholarship, Car Show Swap Meet, CBPU, and Kendall Electric scholarships.

After graduating High School, Coltin plans to attend Trine University in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Francis Williams, Electrical & Automation Engineering Technologies Instructor selected Coltin because of his exceptional leadership in class. Due to unforeseeable circumstances, Mr. Williams was not in the classroom and the substitute teacher could always count on Coltin to lead the class and assist classmates with projects and bookwork. Coltin stepped up and put the needs of classmates above his own. He displayed maturity and professionalism by analyzing the class projects and jumping in to help in problem areas and coaching students through difficult assignments.
