Education Academy I

The Education Academy program is open to those students whose EDP states that they plan on going into the field of education. The student's education will be site based with a mentor at one of the local schools. Students will work with their mentor to get on-the-job experience into what the education profession encompasses. Based on the student's time available, this course will run for one or two class blocks/periods. Students are required to attend mandatory related classes held at the BACC.  A parent meeting will be held in April and an application must be completed. Successful students in the first year will be invited to return for Education Academy II.

Education Academy II

• Students will meet once a month during related class.
• Students will  be placed with a Master Educator as a mentor during one or two blocks.
• Students will have the opportunity to take the  Michigan Basic Skills Test, which is a required test for acceptance into any education program in Michigan.
