Zack Keegan is a senior from Reading High School and attends the Branch Area Careers Center’s Environmental & Agri-Science program. His On-The-Job-Training placement is a Farm Hand with Pridgeon Farms under the supervision of Paul Pridgeon.
Zack is responsible for processing pig litters, giving vaccinations, weaning baby pigs and other duties around the farm. He says his OJT job has given him better knowledge of the pork industry the importance of proper animal care and nutrition. Zack’s favorite part of his job is doing something different every day at work. Zack’s future plans are to attend auctioneering school and would eventually like to operate his own auctioneering business.
At Reading High School, Zack is a member of the 2018 State Champion Football team. He is also a varsity wrestler and varsity track team member. At the BACC, Zack is an FFA member and he has won awards in the Environmental Skills and Poultry contests. He participated in the FFA State Leadership Conference. He has received his Greenhand degree and plans to compete in more events this year. In his spare time, he enjoys raccoon hunting and spending time with friends. Zack is the son of Jerald and Melenda Keegan.
