Matthew Buehrer OJT Spotlight

Matthew Buehrer is a senior at Pansophia Academy and a student in the Computer Networking Technologies program at the Branch Area Careers Center.

Matthew is an Information Technology Assistant at Pansophia Academy in Coldwater under the supervision of Casey Sappington.  His duties include enrolling chromebooks, taking inventory and repairing desktop computers.  His favorite part of the job is the variety of technology he works on each day at Pansophia.

Matthew believes his OJT training has helped him determine what the real workplace is like outside of the classroom. He feels it is preparing him as a professional and helping him understand what is expected in his career field.

His future plans are to pursue a career in Network Administration using his CCNA Certification.

Matthew is a two-year member of the BACC’s Business Professionals of America club. He competed at the local, regional, and state levels for BPA.  This year he placed 5th in the State in Cisco Systems Administration and 4th in PC Servicing.  He will compete in both of these events at BPA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida later in May.

Matthew’s parents are Chasity Buehrer and Ed Uminn. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys playing video games and working with HTML and other coding.
