Linzee Jaquay is a senior from Bronson High School in the Health Sciences program at the Branch Area Careers Center. Linzee’s OJT placement is the Medical Office Assistant at the Family Practice of Bronson, under the supervision of Dr. Tania Berry. Linzee faxes papers, files charts, checks patients in and out, schedules appointments, answers phones, and takes notes of patient calls. Her favorite part of her OJT job is meeting the patients and remembering their faces. It makes her feel great to be able to help others and take the time to listen about what goes on in their life, and learn their individual story.
Linzee feels the OJT program has helped her because she has realized that her career goals are now in the medical office administration field and not direct nursing.
After high school, Linzee plans on attending Kellogg Community College. After college, she would like to work as a health records professional or bookkeeper. She is involved in HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) at the BACC. Last year she placed first in Regionals and qualified for state and she plans on doing that again this year. She is also involved in National Honor Society at Bronson High School. Linzee enjoys hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, reading books, spending time with friends, family, and her dog Kooper. Her best friend is her Great Grandma Ada who is 86 years old. She is the daughter of Rick and Karen Jaquay.
