Kaci White is a Coldwater High School senior enrolled in the Health Science program at the Branch Area Careers Center. Kaci’s OJT placement is at The Family Practice and Orthopedic Care Center. She is a Student Medical Assistant under the direction of Kristy Rissman and staff. Kaci places patients in rooms, takes vital signs and assists with external procedures. She also inputs medical histories of patients.
Kaci believes her OJT training has made her more mature and professional in the medical field. She believes that being in a professional medical office is very eye opening because everything is personal and confidential and she knows the importance of her professionalism.
Her favorite part of her job is the knowledge that she has gained from the medical assistants and providers. Not only medical knowledge, but how to handle different kinds of people and personalities.
Kaci is a member of HOSA at the BACC. Last year she placed 3rd in Sports Medicine at Regionals and competed at the State level in Traverse City. At Coldwater High School, Kaci is a member of the Varsity Volleyball team, Varsity Track & Field squad, Interact, and Youth in Government.
In her spare time, Kaci likes to play club volleyball, participate in AAU Track and Field in which she qualified for the 2017 Junior Olympics, and work out at CrossFit in Coldwater.
After graduation, Kaci plans to attend college, but she is undecided about the exact area of study in the medical field. She is the daughter of Jim and Renee White.
