OJT Spotlight: Joe Hicks

Joe Hicks is a senior at Coldwater High School and enrolled in Business, Management & Marketing Technologies Program at the BACC.  Joe is placed as an Office Financial Assistant at the Branch County Community Foundation under the supervision of Colleen Knight.

Joe believes his OJT training has taught him more about the world of finance and how the Branch County Community Foundation impacts the community.  His favorite part about his OJT job are all the people he meets.

Joe is responsible for processing financial gifts and tracking and balancing the accounts he works with.  Joe knows that he is obtaining the necessary skills to become successful in the finance world.

Joe’s future plans are to attend Michigan State University and pursue a degree in Business or Finance.  He is the President of the Branch Area Careers Center’s Business Professionals of America youth club.  He competes in many different BPA contests and has earned awards that have made him eligible to compete at Regional and State Competitions.  He has also participated in Generation E.

Joe is a member of the BACC National Technical Honor Society. At Coldwater High School, Joe is a member of the Tennis, and Golf teams, Interact, and participates in school drama productions.  Joe enjoys playing tennis and getting involved in his community in his spare time. His parents are Don Hicks and Kellie Stroud.
