OJT Spotlight: Jaysen Chess

Jayson Chess is a senior from Coldwater High School and attends the Branch Area Careers Center’s Business Management, Marketing & Technology program.

His On-The-Job-Training placement is Graphic Design and Project Manager at Images, Etc. under the supervision of Miranda Townsend at the Branch Area Careers Center.

Jayson uses graphic design software to create designs, which are then transferred by embroidery, screen printing, sublimation, or vinyl printing. He also helps with product orders by organizing, filing and sorting the merchandise.  He trains other BMMT students on how to run the equipment and produce the customer orders.

He says his OJT job has really helped him by giving him excellent experience in the business and graphic arts field. His favorite part of the job is the feeling of accomplishment when holding a finished project that he custom-made for a customer.

Jayson is a member of Business Professionals of America at the BACC and has competed in a variety of events this year.  He won first place as a member of the Financial Analyst Team.  At Coldwater High School, Jayson is involved in band.

Jayson plans on attending Kellogg Community College to obtain a degree in Accounting and then transferring to Baker College.   In his spare time, he enjoys playing video games and hanging out with family and friends.  Jayson is the son of Lynn Chess.
