Hannah Furney

Hannah Furney is a senior at Coldwater High School and attends the Environmental and Agri-Science Program at the Branch Area Careers Center.  Hannah has an On-the-Job Training placement position with Care Center Hospital for Animals under the direction of Claire, Jessica, Kaitlyn & Marissa.  She works as a PCA and Vet Tech Assistant cleaning cages and the facility, walking dogs, checking in patients, assisting with medications and wound care.  Hannah is the daughter of Melisa Hughes and Mike Furney.

Hannah is a member of the BACC FFA Chapter, where she currently serves on the leadership committee. Hannah has earned her FFA greenhand degree, chapter degree, and Behind the Scenes award. She has also earned the Outstanding Junior award. She is a member of the BACC National Technical Honor Society.  At Coldwater High School, she is a member of Interact and plays soccer. Hannah’s hobbies include working with and showing goats and cattle at the fair, reading, and rabbit hunting with her dog Bolt.

After graduation, Hannah plans on pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology.  She plans to live on a farm with her family and continue to have livestock and other animals. OJT has reinforced her decision to pursue a degree and career in Veterinary Technology.  She has also gained valuable experience and skills enabling her to work on her own and help animals.  Her favorite part of OJT is working with animals and watching them recover.
