Damian Cole is a Coldwater High School Senior and a student in the Computer Networking Technologies program at the Branch Area Careers Center. Damian is an IT Helpdesk Assistant for the City of Coldwater Board of Public Utilities. He is supervised by Pat Poole, Josh Smith and Craig Figueroa.
Damian’s duties include dismantling computer components for recycling, assisting with computer preparation before installation, configuring employee work stations and assisting with monitoring inventory. Damian believes his OJT training has helped him get real work experience which has taught him more about the career he wants to pursue in the future. He also enjoys learning how a professional and well organized IT company operates. Damian’s favorite part about his job is learning every day from his knowledgeable co-workers and working with such kind and professional staff.
His future plans are to pursue an Associate’s degree at Washtenaw Community College and then transfer to the University of Michigan to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Damian is a member of the BACC’s Business Professionals of America club and serves as a chapter officer. Last year, Damian qualified for the BPA State Leadership Conference and was a member of a Cyber Patriot team. He will be competing again this year. At Coldwater High School, Damian is a member of the Varsity Wrestling team. In his spare time, Damian enjoys reading, fishing and being with his friends and family. Damian’s parents are Tamby Khairi and Melissa Damon.
