OJT Spotlight: Austin Knauss

Austin Knauss is a senior from Colon High School and attends the Branch Area Careers Center’s Collision Repair program.

His On-The-Job-Training placement is with Curly’s Auto Service under the supervision of Steve Webb.  Austin’s job is to diagnose mechanical problems, complete tech forms, swap out old parts, repair parts and overall mechanical work.

He says his OJT job has really helped him by introducing him into the industry and preparing him for his career. In addition, he has learned about techniques used for repair and learned more about vehicle systems.

His favorite part of his job is the atmosphere at the shop and the good people he works with.

Austin plans to attend at University of Northwestern Ohio. At UNO, he will race for their collegiate team while studying high performance technology.

At Colon High School, Austin plays Varsity Football, Basketball and is a member of the Varsity Club. In his spare time, Austin likes to race dirt bikes and quads, hunt, fish, attend car shows, water ski, and trail ride. Austin is the son of Mike and Amanda Knauss.
