Daniel Calderwood is a senior from Jonesville High School and attends the Branch Area Careers Center’s Environmental & Agri-Science program.
His On-The-Job-Training placement is as a Farm Hand with Rolling Acres Dairy under the supervision of Mark Wiley. Daniel feeds all steers and heifers and is responsible for keeping their pens clean. He also bales hay and helps with silage and other duties around the farm.
He says his OJT job has taught him the importance of proper animal care and nutrition. Daniel believes this extended knowledge of ag will assist him in college and in his career. Also, the job has allowed him to save money for college.
Daniel’s favorite part of his job is doing what he loves and working with cattle. Daniel’s future plans are to attend Ohio Technical College to study Diesel Mechanics. He would eventually like to work on line trucks for Consumers Power of Michigan or maybe own his own repair shop.
At Jonesville High School, Daniel is a member of the Wrestling team. At the BACC, Daniel is an FFA member. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with friends and being on his family farm. Daniel is the son of Toby and Rae Calderwood.
