Carson Rose is a senior from Bronson Jr./Sr. High School and attends the Branch Area Careers Center’s Environmental & Agri-Science program. His On-The-Job-Training placement is a Farm Hand with Oak Prairie Farms under the supervision of Brian Nunemaker. Carson maintains trucks and tractors in the shop as well as chisel plows, picks rocks and chops mule row corn. He will assist with fall harvest, spring planting, and other duties on the farm.
He says his OJT job has taught him that there are many different ways to farm on either a small or large scale. Carson believes this extended knowledge of ag will assist him in college and in his career. Carson’s favorite part of his job is doing what he loves and working with a great staff. He enjoys listening to their farm experiences. Carson’s future plans are to attend Glen Oaks Community College to study diesel technology. From there, he plans to attend Michigan State University to pursue a farm management degree. Eventually, he plans on taking over his family farm.
At Bronson High School, Carson is a member of the Wrestling team. At the BACC, Carson is an FFA member and has earned his Greenhand, Chapter and Discovery degrees. He was also named Star Chapter Farmer and Region 1 Star Farmer. In his spare time, he enjoys restoring tractors and plows, building trucks, rebuilding engines and being on his family farm. Carson is the son of Alicia Hemker and Nick Rose
