Business, Management, Marketing, & Technology Program
Academic: Students must be able to perform basic math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percents. They must be able to read and comprehend at the high school level. Students should know how to count money and make change.
Computer Skills: Students should have knowledge of basic computer applications such as Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
Communication Skills: Students must be able to speak, write, and listen well. They must be able to communicate well with others during groupwork, presenting their ideas and listening to others.
Problem Solving Skills: Students must be able to think critically and creatively. They must have a willingness to attempt to solve problems on their own before requesting assistance.
Responsibility: Students must be able to manage their time, staying focused on their work without constant supervision. It is important to show initiative and have good attendance.
Employability Skills: Students should be able to get along with adults and peers. Teamwork is important; they should be able to work in cooperation with others. They should have positive work habits, an understanding and appreciation of business ethics, good organizational skills, and a desire to achieve.
